PCC Community Markets Helps Double Support for Organic Integrity

When we launched our year-end campaign to raise crucial funds to defend organic integrity, we hoped some of our friends in the organic community would step up to meet the moment alongside us. Among the first to answer that call was Seattle’s PCC Community Markets, the nation’s largest community-owned food market. PCC agreed to contribute $5,000 in matching funds, joining Patagonia to double the impact of every dollar contributed to this campaign and turning our $15,000 fundraising goal into as much as $30,000 to fight for the future of organic agriculture.
Why did PCC feel called to join our campaign?
“PCC has believed in and supported organic agriculture for decades because it is foundational to healthy people, healthy farmers, and a healthy planet,” says PCC’s Director of Purpose, Mike Wenrick.
“The National Organic Coalition plays a critical role in upholding the integrity of organic standards and giving voice and support to organic and aspiring organic farmers. Their work helps ensure that the organic label continues to mean something real, for farmers, retailers, and the communities we serve.”
That’s what this campaign is all about: ensuring that farmers, retailers, and communities can continue to rely on the organic label, for the health of people and the planet.
Will you help us make the most of PCC’s generous matching contribution by giving what you can today? Every dollar counts, and every dollar is doubled, thanks to organic champions like PCC Community Markets.
